Stewardship Coordinator

Yolo Land Trust is pleased to offer a part-time (50% to 75% FTE) employment opportunity in its Woodland, California office.

The Stewardship Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the stewardship and monitoring program for the Land Trust’s portfolio of conservation easements. The Stewardship Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and the Land Conservation Committee to ensure timely monitoring of all conservation easements and to perform other tasks related to the stewardship of the Land Trust’s assets.

Position Duties and Responsibilities.

The Stewardship Coordinator will:

*Coordinate monitoring of all conservation easements, including contacting landowners and working with volunteers and board members who conduct the monitoring
*Prepare monitoring reports, and submit accurate and timely reports as may be required by funding obligations
*Review and maintain monitoring files to ensure compliance with the Land Trust’s Records Policy
*Evaluate conservation records for purposes of accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance
*Research latest standards, protocols and technology for monitoring
* Assist Executive Director on new conservation projects including calculating amount needed for stewardship and legal defense fund
*Prepare Baseline Conditions Report for new projects
*Draft easement abstracts and monitoring protocols
*Staff Land Conservation Committee
*Compile, write and edit materials for publications

Education and Qualifications

The Stewardship Coordinator is expected to possess the following:

*Commitment to the mission of the Yolo Land Trust
*Excellent writing skills
*Demonstrated organizational, communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and following instructions
*Bachelor’s degree in conservation, agriculture, environmental science or related field
*Three years experience in conservation or related field
*Proficiency in office software programs including MS Office, Adobe
*Mapping (GIS) and GPS skills strongly encouraged
*Occasional fieldwork during monitoring season.
*Occasional public presentations.
