CREATE A LEGACY

Once our open space is developed, our rural way of life will be lost forever.

Yolo Land Trust works hard to preserve land and ensure that public policies will continue to help us protect the landscapes we all love. Please help us ensure that Yolo County will remain as it is today for future generations.

Why is it important for you to act now?

  • Local DevelopmentGrowth and development pressures in Yolo County are ever-increasing

  • The political environment may not always favor agricultural, open space and habitat preservation

  • The Agricultural Preserve land designation is not permanent

  • The current laws offer potentially large tax benefits from conservation donations

  • If you are looking to pass property to another generation, you can gain important advantages if you act before you pass away, helping assure that the inheritance meant for your heirs remains intact

Give your VOICE to land conservation.

Pay attention to local land use matters in your area, learn more about land use decision making, attend public meetings, and be heard.

Talk to your councilmember, supervisors, legislators, Assemblyperson, Representatives and Senators and let them how how strongly you feel about protecting the farm, habitat and open space lands of Yolo County. Write letters, send emails or make phone calls -it all helps make a difference!

Give your TIME to land conservation.

If you have time, or specific skills, you’d like to offer to the land trust, we’d love to know! As a small organization, there are several times a year when we need extra hands on deck -for mailings, "A Day in the Country," staffing our information booth at local events, etc. Call our office at (530) 795-3110 and we will be glad to find a way to put you to work!
